Dahlia Tuber Shop
We are so excited to share our tried-and-true collection of dahlia tubers with our community this year. These are all varieties that we love here on our farm and preform wonderfully in our tricky growing climate here in Colorado. For the first time, we’re shipping these tubers straight to your door. Even more importantly, every dollar of profit from this sale will be donated to the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition.
Over the past month, we have been deeply grieved by the scenes of families and communities being persecuted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In moments like these, we return to what gives us hope: planning, planting, and imagining the flowering of a garden. Growing beauty—especially shared beauty—feels like a powerful act.
By offering more flowers to bloom in our city and directing the proceeds to an organization dedicated to due process for all and a more just, welcoming Colorado, this tuber sale feels like a meaningful partnership. Thank you for considering our farm when you stock up on dahlias for your garden! Please read the following to understand our policies when it comes to our dahlia tubers.
Tuber Guarantee
We guarantee that each dahlia tuber you receive will:
- Be true to the variety ordered
- Have at least one visible eye
- Be in healthy condition suitable for planting
When you receive your tubers, open the box immediatly and give them a good look over! If you have questions, please get in touch with us at info@ellensflowers.com within 5 days of delivery. After this period, we cannot accept responsibility for the quality or health of the tubers.
Please note, we are not responsible for issues arising from:
- Adverse weather conditions
- Pests or diseases
- Improper storage or handling
- Poor planting conditions or negligence
Mislabeling
While we do our utmost(think triple labeling everything) to ensure that our tubers are labeled correctly, we are only human and sometimes we make mistakes. If you have a dahlia plant that blooms and it's not the variety you ordered, please contact us with photos and your order details. We will make sure to rectify the mistake.
Virus Policy
Every time we work with our dahlias, we are scouting for disease and immediatly cull those plants. We sanitize all our tools during harvest, digging, and dividing our Dalias. However, it's important to understand that we do not test our dahlias and:
- Viruses can be present despite rigorous controls
- They can be spread by insects and are not always detectable
- We do not offer refunds or replacements for virus-related issues.
- By purchasing our tubers, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
Shipping Information
- Shipping Method: USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground.
- Shipping Area: Colorado only.
- Shipping Schedule: Tubers are shipped in mid April, between April 15th to April 30th, depending on weather conditions. We do not offer early shipping. Orders are shipped in the order they were received.
- Shipping Fees are based on weight. We charge only enough shipping to cover our costs with the carriers and for our shipping supplies. Shipping can be expensive if you have a large order. Thank you for understanding!
Local Pick Up
We will not offer local pick-up this year - all orders will ship directly to you!
Order Confirmation
Items in your cart are not reserved until the checkout process is complete and you receive an order confirmation email.
Substitutions
We do offer substitions, if for some reason a tuber becomes unavailable for some reason, we will reach out to see if you are intereted in a sub. If we don't have what you are looking for, we will refund you for the tubers we were not able to fullfil.
Cancellations & Returns
All sales are final. We do not accept cancellations, returns or changes to orders once placed. However, we reserve the right to cancel and refund orders at our discretion during the quality check process.
Customer Conduct
Let's all be kind to each other! We are a small team and will do our best to communicate with you in a timely manner. We reserve the right to cancel and refund any orders if we feel we are being treated abusively or inappropriately.
